It’s over, thankfully. Two years of campaigning, of vicious name calling, of polling and media fanfare has finally come to an end with the election of Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States.
I did not vote for him, but I am rooting for him because his success will be our success over the next four years. Trump has a rare opportunity to make dramatic changes to our system. He promises to rebuild the infrastructure of the country, to help the economy by lowering both corporate taxes and personal income tax. He promises to improve the overall morale of the country, to get people excited about the future and to get them moving forward in one direction.
Retail needs a little boost these days. There has simply been too much bad news about declining sales and profits and increasing competition from many different sides. Trump may have the answers, especially with his economic ideas. I say we give him a chance and hopes he gets things moving in the right direction. Frankly, there is no alternative.
