Amazon released some data from Prime Day 2022, and it shows that worldwide, Prime members purchased more than 300 million items during Prime Day, “making this year’s event the biggest Prime Day event in Amazon’s history.”
According to a company release, Prime members worldwide purchased more than 100,000 items per minute, and saved over $1.7 billion, which is more than previous Prime Day events.In the United States alone, members purchased more than 60,000 items per minute, with the most shopping being done between 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. PT on Wednesday, July 13.
“Prime Day is a celebration of our Prime members, who look forward to this event every year, and we’re thrilled to have delivered incredible savings to them once again,” says Doug Herrington, CEO of Amazon Worldwide Stores.

Prime members also purchased pet products from Nutro, Temptations, and Greenies. On Prime Day, 17 % of buyers made purchases in the pet care category, Numerator data shows.
