Abandoned Carts: Conventional Grocers' Online Sales Slid in 2021

Online sales for conventional grocers slid through most of 2021, while mass retailers saw gains, according to new research from Brick Meets Click.

The retailer continues to build on its anything, anytime, anywhere commitment.

First trialed last spring in the retailer's hometown of Bentonville, Ark., internet-connected boxes that can securely store temperature-sensitive grocery items on customers' front porch are now available for preorder.

The retailer wants to put more groceries in consumers' refrigerators, literally. Walmart says in-home delivery will be available to 30 million households by the end of the year.

Buyk has launched service from six dark stores in Chicago, joining players such as Getir and Go Grocer in the city's growing instant-delivery market.

Service available from more than 400 Fresco y Mas, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie stores throughout Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.
