Homeland Grocery Stores names Walmart vet David Criscione president and CEO

Criscione brings 30 years of grocery and retail industry experience to the Oklahoma-based grocer, including serving as general manager of Amazon Go.

UNFI names Angie Balian chief brands officer

Balian will oversee and help grow UNFI’s private-label and owned-brands division.

The Seattle-based co-op added Chris Naismith as CFO, Susan Livingston as VP of marketing and purpose, and Michelle Mallory as VP of IT.

Multi-channel company SpartanNash promoted Masiar Tayebi to EVP, chief strategy and information officer; and delivery platform Shipt added Alia Kemet as chief marketing officer while promoting Smrutha Ipparthi to chief product officer.

Horvath, who comes to the wholesaler from pharmaceutical wholesaler AmerisourceBergen Corporation, becomes chief supply chain transformation officer.

Vemana, who comes to the company from Kaiser Permanente, will be charged with steering the retailer’s fast-growing digital business.

The company's supervisory board will propose the reappointment of Frans Muller as president and CEO at the general meeting of shareholders in April.

Pedro Voyer joins the discounter after holding leadership posts at Panera Bread, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Burger King, Starbucks, YUM Brands and more.

The discounter, which cleaned out its C-suite in July, continues to fill those open leadership posts.

The Michigan-based retailer, wholesaler and distributor has largely re-worked its executive ranks over the last two years.
