Meijer plans Black Business Month Summit to diversify its suppliers

The Michigan-based retailer encouraged all Black-owned businesses to showcase their products with Meijer category buyers at the August event. Cargill and UNFI are also launching a program to bring more products from Black farmers to store shelves.

The 65-year-old local institution will now be available to Giant customers across Washington, D.C., Virginia, Maryland and Delaware.

The Natural Grocers-brand lineup spans over 800 products, with more expected to roll out to stores this summer, including eggs.

Beginning in 2024, the Sweets & Snacks Expo will cycle through a rotation of two years in Indianapolis followed by one year in Las Vegas until 2032.

The discount grocer begins selling a new line of branded merchandise Wednesday, with a new store opening in Michigan and a relocation set for Pennsylvania on Thursday.

Peapod Digital Labs, the e-commerce engine for Ahold, will host four quarterly virtual events to bring new products to its shelves. The first will be held in April.
