Del Monte Fresh Produce announced its first of four weekly aspiring chef winners of its “Find Your Inner Chef” online contest. Kara Adanalian, from Fresno, California gets the opportunity, along with three future weekly winners, to move on to the Cook Off Challenge event that will be held in Miami, Florida.
“Congratulations to Kara Adanalian, who proves to be a Del Monte Fresh Produce aspiring chef,” says Dennis Christou, vice president of marketing, North America for Del Monte. “We’re sure folks from Fresno are excited and will be rooting for Kara to win the Grand Prize! Her recipe using Del Monte pineapple, banana, and avocado demonstrates not only her culinary skills, but also the versatility and creativeness of simply using Del Monte fresh fruits and vegetables and how combining them can turn into a wholesome and scrumptious meal/treat.”
The contest, “Find Your Inner Chef,” encourages consumers to participate in a fun and fresh culinary experience using their own favorite recipe or by creating a new recipe using Del Monte fresh fruits and vegetables. Daily prizes, including retail gift cards, culinary kitchen tools, and tabletop appliances, may be won by participating in the online contest.
“I’m very excited I get to move on to the finals,” says Kara Adanalian. “I’m a big fan of fruits and vegetables, so when I saw the 'Find Your Inner Chef' contest posted, it was a no-brainer. I made sure I let all my friends and family know that I entered the contest and I want to thank everyone who “liked” and tweeted my recipe that lead me to be the first winner. I’ve been using Del Monte fresh fruits and vegetables for all types of meals, snacks year ‘round, so I’m really happy to make the trip to Miami and compete for that grand prize!”
There’s still plenty of time for consumers to participate. To enter the contest, all that needs to be done is to log onto www.facebook.com/DelMonteFreshProduce and “like” the page, then complete the pop up registration form. After completing the registration form, a copy of their original healthy recipe along with photos utilizing Del Monte Fresh Produce products should be posted on the Del Monte Fresh Produce Facebook page.
Just as Kara Adanalian won, after she posted her special recipe, her winning was based on the number of “likes” and “tweets” that made her the very first winner! For the next three weeks, there will be one finalist selected and Del Monte will announce the winner nationally and in their hometown, so get going!
