Dole Food Company is launching a new DOLE Garden Kit. Just in time for the holidays, the Garden Kit includes 12 seed varieties, including broccoli, tomatoes, kale and carrots, as well as peat pots, trays, row markers and a journal of gardening tips and recipes.
The experts at the Dole Nutrition Institute designed the Garden Kits to be simple and fun to use, say company officials, helping young people learn how food is grown while instilling healthy eating habits.
“Teaching children the value of healthy eating has been part of Dole’s mission for more than twenty years and today we are proud to take that one step further with our new DOLE Garden Kit,” said Jennifer Grossman, senior vice president for the Westlake Village, Calif.-based company and head of the Dole Nutrition Institute. “Whether it’s providing nutritious recipes or a wealth of online resources, the Dole Nutrition Institute is committed to nurturing knowledge and a love for fruits and veggies.”
Retailers interested in stocking the Garden Kits should contact Ben Sussman at the Dole Nutrition Institute at 818-879-6711.
If it’s true that a company’s success can truly be measured only by the caliber of its people, then the nation’s grocery fresh food departments and their supporting trade partners are in very good hands, as evidenced by the charter Champions of Change class showcased herein.
