I enjoy getting everyone on the team involved. People should feel their opinions and ideas are valued: You can harness that knowledge to shape the organization and focus the efforts.

IDDBA 2020 Champions of Change

Theresa Motter

I love showing up to work every day knowing that the food we make brings life to our communities and opportunities for our employees to rise up and fulfill their dreams.

Getting to work with my two sons and watching them grow in their personal and professional lives while perpetuating a third-generation family business.

The most rewarding aspect of my job is being able to create a shopping experience with product tastings and education that makes it fun for our customers.

The reason Tina’s Burritos exists is because we help folks meet the demands of their everyday lives by feeding them a great-tasting, low-cost burrito that can stand in for a meal, allowing them to do other important things in their lives.

My work supports two “quality-first” companies that care deeply about community: my employer for the last seven years, Dietz & Watson, which is fourth-generation family-owned and operated; and, we have a long-standing partnership with and my former employer, Giant Eagle, which is also family-owned.

Seeing the reaction people have after I have helped them discover their new favorite thing.

I am so fortunate to work with incredibly talented and creative people every single day.

The International Dairy Deli Bakery Association (IDDBA) and WGB are proud to recognize a new, 38-member class of champions, each of whom have contributed greatly to the extraordinary success of grocery fresh departments while fostering career paths and growth avenues for the next generation of leaders.

The people. Both hosts and guests. When you invest your time into your hosts, that’s the point of difference.
