What’s the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Moving forward. Every day I wake up and think of ways to move our business forward. I know companies look at comp numbers—this year vs last year—but I look for ways to “beat yesterday.” With this mentality, I never have to worry about last year’s sales.
What inspires your leadership approach?
Engaged team members. I receive pure enjoyment from creating an atmosphere where my team can succeed. Asking for their opinion on daily operational opportunities is always a good first step. When they feel their opinions matter (because they do), we become an unstoppable team.
What do you value most about being a part of the grocery business?
An incredible sense of family. We work so closely with one another that I cannot help but feel like my team is also my family.
Favorite food?
Pizza, with ham, bacon and pineapple.
