What’s the most rewarding aspect of your job?
The people. Both hosts and guests. When you invest your time into your hosts, that’s the point of difference. Without the amazing hosts executing in the stores, the program doesn’t mean a thing. Seeing someone take ownership of a program that you and your team created and then seeing the sales increase is what is the most rewarding part of the job.
What inspires your leadership approach?
My past. I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing leaders in my life. I have worked in each area of the foodservice department and I lead by example. Cliche answer, but treating people the way you want to be treated is an old-school quote that couldn’t be more true.
What do you value most about being a part of the grocery business?
Opportunity. I started in the restaurant business, and what I love about grocery is that there are thousands of customers walking in the door weekly. Restaurants’ biggest opportunity is trying to get them in the door but for us, they are already here.
