Peter Matz has joined the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) as director of food and health policy. In his new role, Matz will lead issue development and legislative advocacy efforts on the association’s government relations team.
Matz has spent the past decade as a government relations adviser for OFW Law, where he guided regulatory affairs and legislative strategies for companies and trade associations across the food, beverage and agriculture sectors.
“Peter is an accomplished, versatile public policy and communications expert whose passion for food and nutrition complements his track record for consensus building on Capitol Hill,” said Jennifer Hatcher, FMI chief public policy officer and SVP of government relations, in a statement.
Matz has a bachelor’s degree in political science and sociology from Emory University in Atlanta.
