Key Food Stores Co-Operative will be moving its headquarters across the Raritan Bay, relocating from Staten Island, N.Y., to Matawan, N.J., published reports said.

The independent co-op, whose members operate 270 stores under the Key Food, Key Food Marketplace, Key Fresh & Natural, Food Dynasty, Urban Market, Food World, Food Universe Marketplace, SuperFresh and The Food Emporium, in metro New York, was lured to the space in part through a Grow N.J. tax credit program from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, which was approved earlier this year, Real Estate N.J. reported.

Key Food is eligible under the incentive program for a 10-year $4.9 million tax credit, provided it brings an additional 115 jobs to the state. The co-op will occupy about 38,000 square feet over two floors of the 132,000-square-foot complex at 100 Matawan Road.
