NGA Launches #SuperMarketSuperHeroes Campaign

Association thanks grocery workers, provides resources

The National Grocers Association (NGA) launched its #SuperMarketSuperHeroes campaign to thank the grocery workers in the nation’s supermarkets for all their efforts and dedication during the coronavirus pandemic. NGA also is offering a variety of resources, materials and guidance to help independent grocers manage increased demand.

“I’m so proud of the way independent grocers and wholesalers are responding to this unprecedented crisis, and I thank them for being on the front lines of this national emergency,” said Greg Ferrara, NGA president and CEO. “NGA is also standing by our members during these challenging times by offering resources and connecting industry partners in the supply chain to enable them to continue providing their customers with fresh produce, quality products and unmatched customer service.”

The social media hashtag campaign includes a video honoring the hardworking grocery store employees who continue to serve their communities.

To help independent grocers during this time of unprecedented demand, the NGA Foundation encourages grocers to use the NGA Foundation Career Center to post openings for new or temporary staff needs. NGA also is keeping its members informed by sending out daily emails that include information from the government, developments on Capitol Hill and other industry information. The NGA online training center also is now offering COVID-19 relevant courses.
