Whether it’s because of consumer confusion or concerns over regulations, CBD products have been slow to find a home in grocery. However, the winds might be shifting. The 10th annual What's Trending in Nutrition survey found that as a third year dealing with COVID-19 dawns, consumers continue to show strong interest in foods and beverages with wellness properties, including those with ingredients such as CBD and hemp. Then came news this January that a sports performance CBD brand, Level Select, would be available in 1,300 Albertsons stores across the U.S. Including Level Select, here are five products that continue to put CBD on the map.
NatuEra, a vertically integrated cannabinoid producer, has introduced a smart CBD sales kiosk designed for major grocery, pharmacy and mass market retailers. The interactive touchscreen units combine educational videos, product information and vending of NatuEra's CBD wellness products in a store-within-a-store model managed by NatuEra. The kiosks come in four formats, including for use on endcaps, as wall-mounted units and free-standing floor units.
Bayou City Hemp Co., a Texas-based hemp processing and extraction company, has released its first CBD seltzer under its flagship brand: Mixer Elixir. A nonalcohol sparking water, Mixer Elixir Ranch Water contains 25 milligrams of hemp-derived CBD and is designed as a ready-to-drink beverage or cocktail mixer. It has zero sugar and zero calories and a citrus-lime taste with hints of agave.
Ripple, a Colorado-based producer of cannabis products, has launched Ripple Sleep QuickDissolves and Ripple Sleep QuickGummies. The flavorless QuickDissolves contain 10 milligrams of THC and 5 milligrams of CBN (cannabinol) per packet, while the berry-flavored QuickGummies contain 5 milligrams of THC and 2.5 milligrams of CBN. Both products are currently available exclusively at Colorado’s 17 Star Buds dispensaries across Southern Colorado, Denver Metro and Boulder County, with expanded statewide availability starting Jan. 19.
Sky Wellness offers CBD Gummies in fruit flavors such as Mango, Pineapple, Blue Raspberry and Watermelon. Always infused, never sprayed, Sky Wellness products are made with USA-grown and manufactured hemp and high-concentrate hemp oil in all-natural flavors. Each CBD Broad Spectrum Gummies contains 25 milligrams of broad-spectrum hemp oil. The gummies also contain organic tapioca syrup, organic cane sugar, water, pectin, potassium citrate, citric acid, organic flavor extracts and natural vegetable extract.
Available in some Albertsons stores, Level Select is a sports performance-based CBD brand designed in partnership with professional athletes such as PGA Pro Tour Champion Rickie Fowler and 10-time MLB All-Star Steve Garvey and backed by plant-based wellness company Kadenwood Inc. The Level Select portfolio includes topicals such as Sports Creams, Sports Sticks and Sports Spray, as well as oils and gummies, with a range in potency to meet individual needs. For example, Level 1 is used to relax muscles and treat everyday discomfort, while Level 2 is higher in strength for a higher level of muscle soreness relief and Level 3 provides maximum strength when it's needed most, the company said. Level Select products are made with a proprietary blend of broad spectrum and nano CBD with 0% THC.
