Dry cereal and other breakfast-oriented varieties are adding flexibility and choice to the consumer experience, both in-line and end-cap grocery set innovation.
Following a five-year hiatus, Kellogg and Cinnabon re-collaborated to bring Kellogg’s Cinnabon Bakery Inspired Cereal back to store shelves. It was Kellogg’s No. 1 requested cereal the year it was discontinued, says Sadie Garcia, director of brand marketing at Kellogg All Family Cereal.
“After first reintroducing Kellogg’s Cinnabon Bakery Inspired Cereal in a whole new Jumbo Snax form last year, we’re [granting] fans’ wishes and bringing back the original cereal fans know and love.”
Kellogg’s and The Elf on the Shelf also teamed up to debut Kellogg’s The Elf on the Shelf North Pole Snow Creme Cereal, its first-ever cereal that cools consumers palates, the company says. The Official Cereal of the North Pole flavor joins Kellogg’s The Elf on the Shelf Hot Cocoa and Sugar Cookie cereals, Jumbo Snax and a range of branded portfolio products.

Allowing users to simply add water rather than milk, Kellogg’s Instabowls offer a convenient way to enjoy ready-to-eat cereal, as each portable bowl is pre-portioned, single-serve and mess- free. Users simply add cold water to fill line and the instantized milk turns into real milk with a quick stir. Four cereal brands include Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes, Froot Loops, Apple Jacks and Raisin Bran Crunch, all available for an SRP of $1.98 per bowl.
Kellogg’s and The Elf on the Shelf are teaming to create Kellogg’s The Elf on the Shelf North Pole Snow Creme Cereal. The cereal mixes a flurry of frosted star pieces and mini marshmallows—relying on a slow-release flavor ingredient. Kellogg’s The Elf on the Shelf comes in a 12.2-ounce box available for an SRP of $5.29 and joins Kellogg’s The Elf on the Shelf Hot Cocoa and Sugar Cookie cereals.
Transcending dayparts, Swiss Miss collaborated with cereal brand Cinnamon Toast Crunch (Conagra Brands) to launch of Swiss Miss Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cinnamilk hot drink mix. The combination of Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cinnadust with marshmallows and creamy Swiss Miss base are intended to create a unique beverage occasion, the supplier says.
Kellogg’s Special K is introducing Protein Snack Bars, made with 6 grams of protein and 90 calories per bar in Berry Vanilla and Brownie Sundae varieties. Considered a combination of indulgent flavors with functional ingredients in a portable snack, Special K Protein Snack Bars are available for an SRP of $4.29 per 5-count package.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal debuted a limited-time spinoff variety in Cinnamon Toast Crunch CinnaFuego Challenge Packs, a sweet and spicy cereal snack offering a twist on the iconic cinnamon cereal. Packs include a pouch of CinnaFuego along with a pouch of Cinnamon Toast Crunch (SRP of $9.99).
