There’s no shortage of innovation in the beverage space as companies reformulate old favorites, add flavors and enter new markets. From Roar Organic’s new recipe for its functional beverages to California red wine barrel-aged tequilas and a novelty product reminiscent of a candy treat, here are nine recent or coming-soon entries in alcohol and nonalcohol beverages.
Roar Organic Complete Hydration
Roar Organic has announced a new recipe for its line of functional beverages. The drinks now include 100% of the recommended daily value of vitamins B5, B6, B12 and C, as well as antioxidant vitamins A and E and electrolytes from coconut water. Roar’s Complete Hydration line comes in four flavors: Mango, Clementine, Georgia Peach and Blueberry Acai. The beverages, which contain 20 calories and 2-3 grams of sugar per serving, come in packaging made from fully recyclable materials.
Tequila Sun Crush
Monaco Cocktails has released a new spirit-based canned cocktail, Tequila Sun Crush. The 9% ABV drink combines agave tequila with orange flavors. Other varieties in Monaco’s line of single-serve spirit-based cocktails are Citrus Rush, Tequila Lime Crush, Blue Crush, Cranberry, Mango Peach, Black Raspberry, Tropic Rush and Purple Crush. The new flavor has an SRP range of $2.50-$2.99 per 12-ounce can.
Coca-Cola Zero Sugar
Coca-Cola has released a new Coca-Cola Zero Sugar recipe alongside a new simplified can design that begins with the brand’s original and universally recognized red with classic black font. Full distribution of the new Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, which also has zero calories, will begin this August.
Celsius Tropical Vibe
Celsius Holdings, producer of Vibe fitness drinks, has launched its newest flavor: Tropical Vibe. The starfruit- and pineapple-flavored drink has zero sugar, no preservatives and no artificial colors or flavors. It also contains seven essential vitamins and is touted as accelerating metabolism and burning body fat.
Gut health beverage brand Health-Ade has launched a modernized version of its prebiotic sodas. The line, previously known as Health-Ade Booch Pop, features new packaging, flavors, formulas and a new name: Health-Ade Pop. Available in Pomegranate Berry, Lemon Lime, Ginger Fizz, Strawberry Vanilla, Apple Snap and Juicy Grape flavors, the better-for-you sodas are certified organic, vegan and gluten-free. The non-GMO product line is available nationwide for an SRP of $2.99.
Tequila brand Calirosa has launched in U.S. markets with a line of California red wine barrel-aged tequilas. The premium tequila is produced by the Real family in kosher-certified facilities in Amatitán, Mexico, using 100% Blue Weber agave. Calirosa’s Rosa Blanco and Anejo Tequlia will be available in 14 states for an SRP of $49-$74. Rosa Blanco has a floral-forward flavor with notes of cherry and orange peel, while Anejo has notes of cooked agave, chocolate, toffee and vanilla.
ShineWater, a ready-to-drink functional beverage, is now available across all 50 states and in major retailers such as 7-Eleven, Targets and Meijer. ShineWater comes in Strawberry Lemon, Mixed Berry Acai, Peach Mango, Kiwi Cucumber, Coconut Lime and Pomegranate-Grape flavors. Each variety contains vitamin D, potassium, electrolytes, antioxidants and zero added sugar.
Two Trees Pumpkin Spice and Peppermint Whiskeys
Two Trees Beverage Co. will launch Pumpkin Spice and Peppermint wood-crafted flavored whiskeys this September. The Pumpkin Spice variety combines seasonal pumpkin and toasted cinnamon with an aromatic taste of ginger and allspice, while the Peppermint variety has a creamy texture and candy cane-inspired flavor. Both 70-proof whiskeys are available in six-count cases and have an SRP of $21.99 per 750-mL bottle.
Mike And Ike Sodas
The Jaindl Cos., owner of the A-Treat soda brand, announced a partnership with Just Born Quality Confections, the makers of Mike and Ike candies. The two companies collaborated to craft new soft drinks featuring two Mike and Ike flavor profiles: Cherry and Strawberry. The two flavors will be available in 20-ounce plastic bottles.
