The Food, Beverages to Nab 2022 Best New Product Honors

BrandSpark International and Newsweek have announced the winners of the 2022 Best New Product Awards—at a time when consumer interest in new products is growing. According to this year's BrandSpark American Shopper Study, 73% of household shoppers say they like trying new products, while 51% report they “actively look for products that are new and different.” 
"There are so many new products launched each year, and consumers want to know which ones are really the best and worth purchasing," said Robert Levy, President of BrandSpark International. "It is increasingly difficult for brands to break through the clutter and stand out. Seven in 10 Americans rely on the recommendations of other consumers to choose which products to buy. This is where the Best New Product Awards program comes in: It helps products stand out from competition and brands gain an edge in the market by leveraging their win across various channels including traditional, digital and e-commerce.”
More than 11,000 Americans participated in the 14th annual survey to pick the 61 winning products in four categories: Food & Beverage, Beauty, Health & Personal Care and Household. Click through for the winners in Food & Beverage, including 16 Aldi-exclusive products.

Nutrisystem Hearty Inspirations Sesame Beef & Broccoli with Brown Rice won in the Better-For-You Asian-Inspired Meal category. It is one of five Nutrisystem products to win this year. At 22 grams, the product is high in protein.

Life Cuisine Gluten Free Lifestyle Pasta Bolognese Bowl took top honors in the Better-For-You Pasta Dinner category. Made with Banza chickpea penne pasta, this dish contains 32 grams of protein and 9 grams of fiber per serving.

Nutrisystem Apple Walnut Oatmeal, winner in the Better-For-You Breakfast category, contains real apples, walnuts and a dash of cinnamon.

Clo-Clo Plant Based Shrimp Entree Bowl won in the Better-For-You Plant-Based Meal category. The meal freatures Clo-Clo’s shrimp alternative with peppers and basmati rice in a teriyaki pineapple sauce.

Winner of the Better-For-You Flatbread/Pizza category, Nutrisystem’s Roasted Red Pepper Pesto & Chicken Flatbread and Mediterranean Flatbread have a quinoa crust.

Healthy Choice Max Lemon Herb Chicken Bowl, winner in the Better-For-You Italian Chicken Meal category, contains 33 grams of protein.

Winner of the Better-For-You Beef Skillet Meals category, Nutrisystem Hearty Inspirations Merlot Beef with Root Vegetables features thick-cut beef, rustic root vegetables and potatoes simmered in a rich red wine reduction.

Full of fiber and with zero grams of added sugar, Nutrisystem’s Dark Chocolaty Sea Salt Nut Square, winner of the Better-For-You Dessert category, combines sea salt-dusted peanuts, almonds and walnuts with a drizzle of dark chocolate flavor.

Block Cheese category winner Kerrygold Spicy Irish Cheddar Cheese has flakes of fiery red chili peppers.

Aldi-exclusive Specially Selected Brioche Buns, winner of the Brioche Buns/Bagel category, is one of 16 Aldi-exclusive products to be receive a Best New Product Award. These buns are imported from France and made with fresh egg and rich butter.

Karma CBD Water, winner in the CBD beverage category, contains 25 milligrams of CBD per bottle. Flavors include Watermelon Dragonfruit, Cranberry Lime, Lavender Orange, Blueberry Yuzu and Blood Orange Papaya.

Trader Joe's Molasses Cookies took top honors in the Cookie category. The retailer recently revealed its 13th Annual Trader Joe’s Customer Choice Awards.

Winner in the Dips category, Aldi-exclusive Park Street Deli Party Dips come in Buffalo Chicken or Bacon Cheddar flavors.

Aldi-exclusive Sundae Shoppe Mini Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich, winner in Frozen Dessert Sandwich, have only 60 calories per serving. Twelve sandwiches come in a pack.

Frozen Shrimp winner Chicken of the Sea Crispy Stuffed Shrimp Creamy Garlic & Spinach is ideal for serving as an appetizer. This new product also contains 7 grams of protein per serving.

Frozen Vegetables winner Aldi-exclusive Specially Selected Ready to Roast Vegetables come in two varieties: Mediterranean and Carrot & Sweet Potato.

Aldi-exclusive Emporium Selection Artisan Goat Cheese Assortment is the winner of the Goat Cheese category.

Health Beverage winner 2T Biotin Water comes in a variety of flavors, including Mango Peach, Grape Elderberry, Lemon Ginger, Pomegranate and Cucumber Melon. The zero-calorie drink contains 300 mcg of biotin per 16-ounce serving.

Aldi-exclusive Nature's Nectar Aloe Vera Drinks, winner of the Juice category, come in original Aloe Vera or Aloe Vera Mango varieties. The drinks are a rich source of antioxidants and Vitamin C, the retailer said.

Aldi-exclusive Elevation Keto Bars won in the Keto Bars category. The bars are gluten-free and come in flavors such as Chocolate Almond Brownie, Chocolate Coconut Macaroon and Salted Caramel Pecan.

Keto Cookies category winner Enlightened Ready-to-Bake Cookies come in Chocolate Chip, Double Chocolate and P.B. Chocolate Chunk flavors. The sweet snack has 2 grams of net carbs and 100 calories per cookie.   

Aldi-exclusive L'oven Fresh Protein Bread won in the Low Carb Bread category. The bread has 10 grams of plant-based protein and 4 grams of net carbs per serving.

Winner in the Macarons category, Aldi-exclusive Specially Selected Macarons come in a 12-pack with Blueberry, Raspberry, Blood Orange, Coconut, Pistachio and Lemon flavors in each box.

Aldi-exclusive Simply Nature Thin-sliced Organic Bread took top honors in the Organic Bread category. The bread is packed with whole grains and seeds.

Aldi-exclusive Priano Cheese & Spinach Manicotti, winner of the Pasta Ready Made Meal category, come five to a package. They are filled with spinach, ricotta, Romano and parmesan cheeses.  

Sweet Earth Mindful Chik'n won in the Plant-Based Chicken category. The ready-to-eat product can be used for pastas, salads, wraps and more.

Pretzels category winner Aldi-exclusive Clancy's Pub Style Seasoned Pretzels are “bold and zesty,” according to the package. The pretzels are seasoned with garlic and onion.

On The Border Squeezable Salsa won in the Salsa category. The restaurant-inspired salsa comes in Medium and contains no artificial colors or flavors.

Aldi-exclusive Emporium Selection Cheese Cracker Cuts, winner in Sliced Cheese, come in Extra Sharp Cheddar and Gouda varieties. As the name suggests, the cheese is sliced to pair perfectly with crackers.

Aldi-exclusive Connellys Original Country Cream won in the Store Brand Cream Liqueur category. The product has an ABV of 13.9% and can be enjoyed on the rocks, in coffee or with a favorite dessert.

Gelson's The Epicure Series Cabernet Sauvignon, winner of the Store Brand Red Wine category, is made from grapes grown on Howell Mountain in Napa Valley. It is noted for a ripe black fruit on the nose and on the palate, complemented by dark spices and licorice.

Winner in the Store Brand rosé category, Aldi-exclusive Exquisite Collection Cotes de Provence Rosé is a dry rosé blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah from Cotes de Provence in the South of France.

Aldi-exclusive Don't Mind If I Do Sauvignon Blanc, winner in Store Brand White Wine, is a low-calorie white wine with 85 calories per serving. It has aromas of grapefruit and a tropical finish.

On the Border Lightly Salted Cafe Style Tortilla Chips won in the Tortilla Chips category. The restaurant-inspired chips have 50% less sodium than On the Border Cafe Style Chips, according to the packaging.

Water category winner Essentia Water 2 Gallon Box is a large-format option that provides 2 gallons of ionized alkaline water in a sustainable package. The 100% recyclable box is made of recycled cardboard.
