The plant-based foods market is thriving, with U.S. retail sales climbing to record highs in 2020, according to the Plant Based Foods Association and the Good Food Institute. Citing data commissioned from SPINS, the organizations found that sales of plant-based foods rose 27% to $7 billion in 2020. In addition, 57% of U.S. households purchased plant-based foods, up from 53% who reported doing so in 2019.

Late July Vegetable Tortilla Chips
Late July Vegetable Tortilla Chips from Late July Snacks come in two new flavors: Beat the Heat Red Pepper, made with chia seeds and seasoned with chipotle; and Dangle the Carrot Vegetable, made with teff seeds and are seasoned with cumin and paprika. Sweet Earth Mindful Chik’n
Nestle-owned Sweet Earth, a plant-based food brand, is expanding its Mindful Chik’n line with three new ready-to-eat seasoned offerings: Shredded Seasoned Chik’n, Seasoned Chipotle Chik’n Strips and Shredded Korean Style BBQ. The plant-based protein alternatives have an SRP of $7.99.
Mushroom Oat and Hemp Barista Blends
Califia Farms has expanded its Barista Blend plant-based creamer lineup with new Mushroom Oat and Hemp varieties. Mushroom Oat is made with certified organic mushroom extracts, and Hemp contains omega-3 ALA fatty acids. Both have an SRP of $5.99.
Daiya Mexican 4 Cheeze Style Blend
Daiya Foods’ new Mexican 4 Cheeze Style Blend is a plant-based blend that features Cheddar, Monterey Jack, Asadero and Queso Quesadilla Style Shreds. The new variety joins Daiya’s Cutting Board Collection Shreds in natural grocers across the U.S. and Canada.
Hidden Valley Plant Powered Ranch
Hidden Valley Plant-Powered Ranch is a dairy-free ranch that is also gluten-free, vegan and nut-free. It is available in select retailers and will be available nationwide starting in April 2021. The plant-based product comes in a 12-ounce bottle for an SRP of $3.49.
Cauliflower Chips and Cauliflower Snacking Crackers
Real Food From the Ground Up has announced two new salty plant-based snacks: Cauliflower Chips and Cauliflower Snacking Crackers. The chips come in a 3.5 ounce bag in Sea Salt, Salt & Vinegar, Sour Cream & Onion and Buffalo flavors for an SRP of $3.99. The crackers come in Sea-Salt and Everything flavors and will be available in stand-up pouches for an SRP of $3.99.
Upton’s Naturals has introduced Updog, a plant-based, 100% vegan hot dog. A 10-ounce package of four links has an SRP of $5.99. The product is certified non-GMO and kosher and free of cholesterol, trans fat, added sugars and artificial flavors.
