WinCo Taps Afresh to Help Reduce Waste, Drive Profits in Fresh

The retailer will use the AI-powered replenishment platform chainwide to reduce food waste, optimize produce inventory, place orders and boost profitability.

The retailer plans to open 24 additional restaurants in 2021.

For $99 a year, Hy-Vee Plus offers monthly offers and coupons; free grocery delivery and two-hour express pickup; and a personal concierge service.

Move comes as eight-state coronavirus cases increase across the retailer’s eight-state region.

The 46,000-square-foot location features a beer cave and wine cafe; a meal center with heat-and-serve, grab-and-go and ready-to-eat meals; curbside pickup and delivery; and more.

The food wholesaler recognizes 30 independent grocery retailers for their best-in-class marketing efforts and names the Cayman Islands Foster’s as the 2020 Grand Master Marketer.

The Midwest chain says new employees are needed as it expands and opens new stores and as it adapts to meet the evolving needs of shoppers.
