Hy-Vee Inc. is set to pull a string of Iowa-born coffee shops into its stores.
The retailer has entered into a partnership with Smokey Row Coffee, which operates four stores in the Hawkeye State.
The first location is slated to open in the Chariton, Iowa, Hy-Vee in late September, with several other locations planned for the future.
Additionally, the Chariton Hy-Vee will renovate its Market Grille Express to serve a wider variety of food items and will add a feature in which customers can walk up to a pay station and order their meal for a sit-down, self-service atmosphere.
“The current Market Grille space in Hotel Charitone will be transformed into a fun, trendy atmosphere with a wide array of food options, as well as a comfortable place for customers to relax, connect via Wi-Fi, or visit with friends," said Nate Stewart, EVP of restaurant development and foodservice for Hy-Vee.
The Smokey Row in-store cafe will offer the coffee shop's full menu, including coffee and food items such as breakfast, salads, soups, sandwiches, ice cream and desserts, as well as a kids menu.
