Lunch Delivery, Corporate Style

A new spin on the office park commissary

The Lempert Report

Dejbox is a French food delivery startup that aims to avoid busy cities and just wants to serve people who really need a new option for lunch. The company designs its own meals and works with other companies to cook them, sell them and deliver them.

The company targets the most promising companies to pitch them the service that are far from city centers, usually in boring areas with little around them. Each delivery person drives a truck with 100 to 150 meals and delivers to multiple offices during one run. This combination of low customer acquisition cost, low unit economics and high lifetime value has been working well.

During the first 18 months, the startup generated $1.4 million in revenue, $4.5 million in 2017 and $11.3 million in 2018.  This year, the company plans to generate $22.5 million in revenue, and it now delivers to 10,000 people every day.
