Albertsons Customers Reveal Top Own Brand Favorites

Albertsons Cos. has announced the winners of its first Fresh Picks Exclusive Product Awards, which asked customers to vote on their favorite Own Brands product across seven grocery categories. To celebrate its Fresh Picks winners, Albertsons banner stores will be offering exclusive deals, loyalty offers and recipe content featuring the winning products during the month of January. 

Winners were chosen among the Boise, Idaho-based grocer’s top-rated Own Brands portfolio products, which is comprised of 12 private-label brands that are exclusive to Albertsons Cos.’ more than 20 well-known banners, including Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw's and Acme.

The results are in and topping the list of the Albertsons Fresh Picks Awards was the Signature Select Ice Cream + Store Baked Cookies combination.The combo was named the overall winner after more than 150,000 customer votes were tallied for most loved products. It was also the frontrunner in the Treat Yourself Combo category.

Six additional winners in the Albertsons Fresh Picks Exclusive Product Awards were also named, including Signature Select Pasta and Signature Select Pasta Sauce. The runner up was Signature Cafe Deli Rotisserie Chicken.

“As more meals are eaten at home, we’re always looking for ways to inspire our loyal shoppers,” said Katie Ceclan, VP of brand marketing, in a statement. “From quick and easy dinners to go-to snacks, the Fresh Picks Awards are an exciting way to celebrate our fan-favorite Own Brands products and provide inspiration in the kitchen.”   

In the healthful food category O Organics Salads and O Organics Veggies took top billing. The runner up in this category was Open Nature Gluten Free Cauliflower Crust Pizza.

When it comes to grab-and-go snacks, shoppers chose O Organics Popcorn as its No. 1 pick. The runner up in this category was Open Nature Cheese Crisps.

Kids and their parents named Signature Select Mac & Cheese as the winner, while giving a nod to runner-up Lucerne Family Size Cheeses.

Albertsons Signature Select Bacon took home top honors in the breakfast category. O Organics Cage Free Eggs nabbed the No. 2 spot.

How much do shoppers at Albertsons love wine? Customers chose Signature Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon over coffee.
