The Fresh Market has appointed Kevin Miller as its new chief marketing officer, effective immediately. Miller, a 30-year industry veteran, will report to Jason Potter, the Fresh Market's newly named CEO.
Miller most recently was chief marketing officer of Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage, the Lakewood, Colo.-based specialty retailer. At Natural Grocers, Miller led transformational change across marketing, culture and digital innovation, helping lead growth the of the retailer's popular Npower loyalty program.
At The Fresh Market, Miller assumes a role most recently held by Mary Kellmanson, who departed the company in February. Chief Merchandising Officer Dan Portnoy had taken over her responsibilities temporarily.
“Kevin brings to The Fresh Market a deep background in marketing from working with such well-known businesses as Coca-Cola, McDonald's and ABC News, in addition to his experience in grocery with Natural Grocers,” Potter said in a statement. Potter also called Miller "a consummate professional, who will help us continue to evolve our brand and mission of inspiring our guest to make everyday eating extraordinary.”

Founded in 1982, Greensboro, N.C.-based Fresh Market operates 159 stores across 22 U.S states.
