The Fresh Market Slates Summertime Sampling Events

Specialty grocer gears up for a series of in-store events in June

Seeking to reaffirm its mission to offer consumers wholesome ingredients and inspiring meal solutions, The Fresh Market will host a series of in-store sampling and demonstration events at all of its 176 store locations throughout the month of June.

The Greensboro, N.C.-based retailer’sagenda features weekend sampling stations based on different seasonal themes to celebrate the start of summer, including:

  • An outdoor grill station featuring colossal grilled shrimp marinated and tossed in lemon-herb Medlee Butter; rustic panella bread topped with DeLallo’s authentic Italian artichoke bruschetta and handpicked herbs; and grilled Eastern peaches and plumcots, a hybrid fruit between an apricot and a plum, glazed with The Fresh Market’s caramel dessert sauce and sprinkled with caramelized nuts.
  • A fresh melon station decorated with a large variety of specialty melon cubes including Athena, Summer Kiss and Dewlicious melons, among others, along with watermelon and peach summer salad.

The Fresh Market is also getting an early start on Father’s Day weekend events with a meal deal priced at $29.99 and available in-store from June 15-17 featuring four gourmet burgers or hot dogs, smokehouse barbeque beans, creamy coleslaw, corn, fresh-baked golden potato hamburger or hotdog buns, a mini seedless watermelon and several choices of desserts.

The chain will also showcase prime beef tenderloin during a cutting on the floor June 16-17. Housed in the meat department, shoppers can choose from premium choice whole-beef tenderloin as well as prime whole-beef tenderloins and have them custom-cut to any desired thickness by The Fresh Market’s in-house certified butchers.

Next up for June 23-24 is a wild and spicy summertime-favorites sampling event that will feature a cookout and tasting event where spicy sausages, peppered onion rolls and grilled veggies will be in the spotlight. Sampling and cutting floor stations include an outdoor grill station featuring mild Italian pork sausage paired with fresh-baked pepper fennel onion rolls; grilled, fresh-cut Southwest veggies, prepared daily in-store; and The Fresh Market’s organic, custom-blend spicy brown mustard.

In addition, the chain will host a wild salmon cutting on the floor, which will be led by The Fresh Market's seafood specialists to help shoppers select the filet of their choice, cut to order.
