The Fresh Market this month opened its 47th store in Florida—and 160th store overall—bringing to the Palm Beach Gardens community specialty fresh foods, locally sourced ingredients and a “new sensory experience”: a center-store culinary kitchen and Roasting Plant Coffee.
“Our merchandising team has been working closely with Florida farmers and suppliers for the freshest produce and favorite guest items, and our center-store culinary kitchen with fresh sushi and menu favorites like barbeque and brick-oven pizza, will certainly be able to answer the age-old question, 'What's for dinner tonight?’ ” Jason Potter, CEO of Greensboro, N.C.-based The Fresh Market, said in a release.

At the center-store kitchen—an in-store experience similar to The Fresh Market’s flagship store in Greensboro, N.C., that reopened last fall—customers can select from freshly prepared foods, including barbecue, roasts, brick-oven pizza, sandwiches, salads, sushi and tacos. Made-to-order smoothies and specialty coffee, roasted in the store throughout the day, are also available.
The nearby produce section is also worth noting; on opening week, the produce department offered close to 100 local items from about 15-20 area farms. The Fresh Market said the department will offer more local items throughout the season from close to 50 farmers.
"For 40 years, The Fresh Market continues to offer a European market atmosphere with a show of fresh-cut flowers when entering the store, aromas of the freshest brewed coffee, a special curated selection of produce and groceries to choose from and greetings from the friendliest employees,” Potter said. “We believe this store will soon become the ‘go-to’ destination for people in the Palm Beach area to help make their everyday meals extraordinary.”
The meat department boasts top echelons of choice and prime beef and offers dry aging upon request for preferred cuts, The Fresh Market said in a release. Also available from The Fresh Market's own fish houses, and locally sourced, is a selection of whole or fresh-cut fish, shellfish and live lobster. Upon request, the store can steam a customer’s seafood selection in-store for the convenience of a fully cooked meal to go.
Customers of the new Palm Beach Gardens store can also sign up for The Fresh Market's recently launched Ultimate Loyalty Experience, which gives members access to exclusive savings on products, rewards and a free slice of cake during their birthday month. It also includes "The Club Hub" purchase frequency programs, in which shoppers can earn free items or dollars off on favorite items. For Florida customers, one of those purchase frequency programs will include A Wine Club.

New store updates are important to our readers, so we’re adding a monthly feature to highlight them and demonstrate supermarket growth trends around the country.
