Grocery Outlet will open its first store in Las Vegas on Thursday, officially marking the 450th location for the retailer.

The fast-growing Emeryville, California-based discount grocer’s Las Vegas store will be located at 3890 Blue Diamond Rd., Ste. B. and will bring 30 new jobs to the area.

The new Grocery Outlet store will be run by Dana and Ernesto Sesma, independent operators based in the community, which is the model for all of the discounter's operations.

“We are so thrilled to be a part of this milestone opening in Las Vegas and providing some relief to the community with big savings on quality groceries,” said Ernesto and Dana Sesma in a statement. “This partnership with Grocery Outlet gives us the ability to grow our business, create new jobs and more importantly, give back to the local community.”

Grocery Outlet, which touts big discounts on brand-name products, will also open a new store on Thursday in California’s city of Laguna Niguel in Orange County at 27871 La Paz Road.

“We are so thrilled to be a part of the Laguna Niguel community,” said independent operators Matt Schorle and Berenise Barajas.

Grocery Outlet also announced the opening of its new store in Lincoln City, Oregon will be held next week as well. The store is just about one mile from the Grocery Outlet location it replaces off NW US 101. Located at 2429 NW US 101, the store features “better visibility and convenience for customers,” Grocery Outlet said in a statement.

“We are so thrilled to continue serving the Lincoln City community in a new and improved location to better meet their needs, but one thing that will remain unchanged is the big savings we provide on quality groceries,” said independent operators Jenni and Richard Miller, in a statement. “We can’t wait for our loyal customers to experience this new, more convenient location.”

Earlier this month, Grocery Outlet Holding Corp. achieved record-setting results during its second quarter, reporting that net sales topped $1 billion.

"Our second-quarter results came in ahead of our expectations and were driven by strong same-store sales growth and gross margin expansion,” CEO RJ Sheedy said in a statement.

Grocery Outlet reported it is still on track to open 25 to 28 new stores this year, with eight of those in the third quarter and the remainder in the fourth quarter.

This month also marked the retailer’s 13th annual campaign to combat food insecurity. Grocery Outlet raised over $3.9 million for local food agencies during this year’s Independence from Hunger campaign.

“Grocery Outlet has always upheld our commitment to give back to the local communities in which we operate, and our annual Independence from Hunger campaign is an integral part of that promise,” Sheedy said in a statement.

Founded in 1946, the extreme-value grocery retailer operates locations throughout California, Idaho, Maryland, New Jersey, Nevada, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Washington.
