Lucky Supermarkets has opened its first ground-up Lucky California store in Dublin, Calif., featuring expanded foodservice offerings, local products and a social gathering setting. Lucky California is the first new concept from parent company Save Mart Cos. in nearly a decade, launching first in 2015 in Daly City, Calif., with a second store opening in Carmel, Calif., in February.
Located at 2840 Dublin Boulevard in the Fallon Gateway shopping center, the Dublin store “transforms the grocery shopping experience by embracing California’s spirit, identity and flavors,” says Victoria Castro, public affairs manager at Save Mart, based in Modesto, Calif.
Inspired by the Bay Area’s unique food culture, Lucky California aims to unite people within the community through their shared love of food and exploration, says Castro. “Customers are introduced to an entirely new grocery shopping experience that makes each trip an opportunity for discovery.”
Lucky California boasts expansive perimeter departments featuring organic and better-for-you options, targeting the community’s health- and wellness-focused consumers. “With this new location, Dublin shoppers will have a one-stop shop for all their meal solutions,” Store Manager Ann Bradford said in a statement.
The new location also offers fresh salad, a hot soup station, ready-to-eat meals and a fresh juice bar, appealing to consumer demand for a social shopping experience.
With 70 store locations—all of which Save Mart plans to renovate and rebrand under the Lucky California banner—Lucky Supermarkets has been servicing the greater Bay Area for decades.
