As part of an ongoing brand refresh initiative, Price Rite Marketplace recently unveiled a new store design at three of its Pennsylvania locations, in Bethlehem, Allentown and Secane, featuring enhanced fresh offerings, deep discounts and a layout designed to improve the shopping experience, including convenient new self-service checkouts.
“For more than 20 years, Price Rite has been proud to offer incredible value and fresh products to our shoppers,” said Jim Dorey, president of Price Rite Marketplace, in a statement. “Now we are moving forward by cutting prices further on hundreds of items while highlighting our fresh offerings and making it even easier to spot extraordinary deals in our redesigned and reimagined Price Rite Marketplace stores.”
The redesign is an extension of the improvements first unveiled at the Secane, Pa., location in late 2017, which included the store’s new logo and name, enhanced customer service and a brighter, more welcoming environment. All-new to the three Pennsylvania stores is a novel concept for the Wakefern Food Corp. discount chain: the Price Rite Marketplace “Drop Zone,” a dedicated in-store destination featuring steep discounts, special surprise buys and must-have products typically priced at $3 or less.
In addition to the Drop Zone, Price Rite has lowered its everyday prices on hundreds of items and introduced in-store signage to make it easier for customers to locate sales. Featured in every aisle, “Spot on Savings!” signage highlights weekly deals, with “red spots” across the store to guide shoppers to steep discounts.
With a focus on enhanced product assortment, the retailer has also expanded its Price Rite brand line and Wholesome Pantry portfolio of organic, free-from and gluten-free offerings, with a double-your-money-back guarantee on its own brand products.
While the retailer did not offer produce at its earliest store locations, Price Rite now emphasizes its fresh offerings, including local fruits and vegetables from Pennsylvania farmers displayed in a refreshed, market-style produce department. The discount chain also installed bright, revitalized store decor, vibrant color palettes and new LED lighting designed to enhance the natural color of fruits and vegetables.
In addition to produce, Price Rite’s three refreshed Pennsylvania locations offer a selection of fresh bakery items, including a destination bakery department stocked with sweets from local Lusitania Bakery in Bethlehem and “The Sweet Spot” dessert case.
Enhanced meat department offerings include premium brands such as Certified Angus Beef, Perdue’s No Antibiotics Ever Chicken, Wholesome Pantry Organic Chicken and Oasis Halal.
