Kroger Ship to Add Third-Party Marketplace Sellers

More than 50,000 additional items will initially be available this fall through Mirakl partnership

The Kroger Co. is expanding its Kroger Ship direct-to-consumer offering to include an extended ship-to-home assortment through a marketplace of third-party sellers powered by Mirakl, an e-commerce software developer based in Paris.

More than 50,000 additional items across multiple categories, including natural and organic, international food, specialty items, housewares and toys, will initially be available to customers. The marketplace is expected to launch this fall.  

"Our customers are increasingly turning to our e-commerce solutions provided at Kroger.com for their grocery and household essential needs. To better serve our customers, we're continuing to invest in technology that enables us to expand our digital services to deliver anything, anytime, anywhere," said Jody Kalmbach, group VP of product experience for Cincinnati-based Kroger, in a release.

Kroger Ship launched in August 2018 in Cincinnati, Houston, Louisville and Nashville. The offering is now available in the continental U.S.
