More Amazon Go Stores on Deck for 2018: Report

Company said to be in 'serious talks' with developer

Amazon plans to open up to six more Amazon Go brick-and-mortar cashierless convenience stores this year, according to a Recode report.

Some of the new stores are likely to open in Amazon’s hometown of Seattle, where the first location is based, as well as Los Angeles, multiple people familiar with the company’s plans told the technology news outlet.

“We don’t comment on rumors or speculation,” an Amazon spokesperson told WGB sister brand CSP Daily News when asked to confirm the report.

Amazon has had “serious” talks with Los Angeles billionaire developer Rick Caruso about bringing an Amazon Go store to The Grove, a 600,000-square-foot outdoor shopping development, two of the sources told Recode.

Additional details on Amazon Go’s potential expansion can be found on CSP Daily News.
