Publix Super Market's new store in Florida's Palm Beach County now open

The 48,388-square-foot store is located in the Westlake Plaza in Westlake. The Florida-based grocer is also readying its pharmacy for hurricane season.

Publix Super Marketshas added another Florida location to its growing list of stores in the Sunshine State.

The fast-growing Lakeland, Florida-based grocery retailer opened its newest location on Thursday at the Westlake Plaza in Westlake. The 48,388-square-foot store is located at 16841 Persimmon Blvd. W Unit 1000 in Palm Beach County.

“We are excited to welcome our customers to their new store at the Westlake Plaza Shopping Center and look forward to providing them with the premier service and quality Publix is known for,” said Lindsey Willis, Publix media relations manager. 

The new store offers departments for grocery, dairy, frozen food, seafood, meat and produce, as well as an updated bakery department that offers a wider selection of self-service options. The store will also include a pharmacy.

Contactless pay options, grocery delivery via Instacart and pharmacy delivery are all available, as well as centralized pick-up at the front of the store for grocery pick up via online ordering.

Looking to ready itself for hurricane season the Florida-based grocer has partnered with OrderInsite, a technology platform for pharmacies to manage, monitor and master their prescription drug inventory.

Publix operates more than 1,200 pharmacies across seven states in the Southeast, which are often impacted during hurricane season.

The technology provides predictive analytics, quick adjustments for re-ordering, and drug forecasting, allowing Publix to know which prescription medications to fast-track to which store.
