Sam’s Club has combined its previous member rewards programs—Sam’s Club Mastercard Cash Back Rewards and Plus Cash Rewards—into one platform called Sam’s Cash, allowing club members to consolidate all the rewards they’ve earned and are eligible to spend in one place.

Available now, Sam’s Cash can be used in-club, online or cashed out. And beginning in April, additional Sam’s Cash will be awarded to members monthly, as opposed to annually.

“Our membership team at Sam’s Club is relentlessly focused on creating innovative ways to deliver value and convenience to our members—Sam’s Cash is the latest example of how we’re fulfilling that commitment,” Scott Ludwig, VP of membership for Bentonville, Ark.-based Sam’s Club, said in an online blog. “We know our members get excited when they see their membership pay for itself through the rewards they earn, and this is just another way we’re helping make their dollar stretch even further.”

All Sam’s Club members can earn Sam’s Cash, which never expires, by:

  • Shopping at Sam’s Club as a Plus member. Plus members earn 2% Sam’s Cash on purchases in-club, including Curbside Pickup and Scan & Go checkout.
  • Using a Sam’s Club Mastercard. Cardholders earn 5% back in Sam’s Cash on fuel, 3% on eligible purchases at Sam’s Club for Plus Members, 3% on dining, and 1% on other eligible purchases.

Also in the spirit of delivering value and convenience to its members, Sam’s Club earlier in March announced that customers in select locations can use their federal supplemental nutrition benefits to pay for purchases using Scan & Go.

With that move, Sam's Club became one of the first major retailers to support digital electronic benefits transfer (EBT) payment for in-store transactions.
