Save Mart has opened its northern-most store and its first in Redding, Calif. The 50,000-square-foot market features enhanced health and safety elements throughout the store and offers an array of signature offerings, includinggrilled-to-order meats and an outdoor adventure section with camping and fishing essentials.

Known as the “Trails Capital of California” and home to the largest fly fishing business in the world, Redding also now boasts a fresh-focused Save Mart that celebrates local purveyors and producers and features produce and products from Northern California and the heart of the agriculture-rich Central Valley.

“As a family-owned company with a strong devotion to local communities, The Save Mart Cos. looks forward to expanding our presence in the Redding community,” said Save Mart CEO Nicole Pesco. “We’re thrilled to open our new Save Mart in Redding, joining our FoodMaxx store, and to continue to nurture and form relationships with the local purveyors, farmers and producers who make our vision a reality.”

With its Redding store, Modesto-Calif.-based Save Mart seeks to offer a variety of signature experiences, local flavor and an emphasis on the grocer’s connections to growers. The store’s Meat and Seafood Central offers spice and marinade options and grilled-to-order meats by the Grill Boss. Fresh, custom-made sausages and an in-store smoker add to the unique local offerings.

Mindful of COVID-19, safety design elements have been incorporated throughout the new store, including antimicrobial check-stand conveyor belts; protective plexiglass barriers at check stands and the bakery, meat, seafood and deli service counters; and hand sanitizer made available throughout the store. The Redding location is the first to add sliding barriers behind each check stand, providing protection on all sides. The store will also offer home delivery through Instacart.

Those looking for an in-store dining experience will find restaurant-quality food at The Tipping Point. A fast-casual spot with both indoor and outdoor garden seating, The Tipping Point features grilled tri-tip in a host of different preparations, including loaded nachos, ciabatta sandwich, burrito, taco or salad, served alongside street corn, churros and other favorite side dishes. The Tipping Point also has a wide selection of local beer and wine on tap.

Save Mart operates 83 stores across California and Northern Nevada and remains the largest family-owned grocer in California and is part of The Save Mart Cos. The company operates 206 traditional and price impact stores under the banners of Save Mart, Lucky, Lucky California, FoodMaxx and MaxxValue Foods.
