Shoptalk covers the latest technologies, trends and business models as well as an in-depth discussion about the rapid transformation of how consumers discover, shop and buy. Some of the specific innovations the 2019 agenda will focus on include:
- Robotics: Ocado Solutions and Takeoff Technologies will share how they’re using robotics to automate fulfillment in large and micro fulfillment centers, respectively; Bossa Nova will show how its robots scan store shelves to identify out-of-stocks.
- In-Store Technologies: Sam’s Club will share how it is harnessing mobile as a vital assistant to members shopping in stores; 7-Eleven will share how self-checkout is making its stores more convenient.
- Operational Technologies: Transfix will discuss how it’s optimizing trucking; Nuro and Shipsi will discuss approaches to facilitating fast last-mile delivery.
Shoptalk also provides innovative networking and collaboration programs such as the Hosted Retailer & Brands Program and Techtalks.
For example, during Shoptalk's Tabletalks, small groups of six to eight individuals get to take a deep dive into the topic retailers and brands and discuss key issues and opportunities facing the industry and their businesses. Drinks with Speakers offers another opportunity for attendees to meet and mingle with more than 70 speakers at the welcome reception. The third networking event during Shoptalk is Shophop, a program open to all retailers and brand attendees in the format of a high-end pub crawl.
