Tops Friendly Markets is reopening its Cheektowaga, New York, store Tuesday after giving it a $2.7 million renovation, the retailer announced.
The latest renovation marks the chain's 25th such remodel, giving Tops' markets a renewed focus on fresh departments, the company said.
Tops will celebrate the grand re-opening of the store with a ribbon cutting Tuesday.
The 80,542-square-foot market has been given a full renovation, with updated décor, including new exterior paint with decorative awnings, landscaping, energy-efficient equipment and LED lighting inside and out, new flooring, expanded self-check outs and renovated restrooms, Tops said in a statement.
The location will also offer enhanced services, an expanded assortment of products, and an enlarged fresh perimeter. Deli and carry-out café areas have been expanded with sandwiches, signature pizzas, prepared salads and other grab-and-go breakfast, lunch and dinner options. In addition, the Tops bakery has an expanded assortment of freshly baked breads, pastries and cakes.

Another highlight of the store’s remodel is its pharmacy, equipped with a new waiting area. The Tops pharmacy provides a variety of services including immunizations such as Covid -19 booster shots, shingles and flu shots, and the pneumonia vaccination. Tops is also an authorized administrator of the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles' Vision test.
