Whole Foods Market opened its ninth small-format 365 store in Upland, Calif., which marks the retailer's first location in San Bernardino County.
Located at 2153 W. Baseline Road, the 30,000-square-foot store, which focuses on “value, convenience and unique retail innovations,” features cafe seating and dining options via the Friends of 365 program. This includes The Bar and Noodle, the first freestanding restaurant and bar concept from Kikka Sushi, as well as Picnik, an Austin-based specialty coffee and smoothie bar.

Shoppers can also use the store’s on-site pairing kiosk to scan wine, beer or spirit labels for food pairing ideas, ratings and user reviews.
The store’s debut coincides with the news of its parent company's expansion of the Amazon Prime-powered loyalty program to an additional 121 Whole Foods stores across 12 states, as well as all Whole Foods Market 365 locations nationwide.
The benefit offers Prime members an additional 10% off hundreds of sale items as well as weekly discounts on select popular items throughout the store.
First introduced in early May at all Whole Foods Market stores in Florida, the program now reaches stores in Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, Louisiana, New Mexico, northern Nevada, northern California, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.
Featured discounts this week include:
- Organic raspberries: $2.50 per 6-ounce container
- Responsibly farmed tail-on white shrimp: $12.99 per 2-pound bag
- Antibiotic-free rotisserie chicken: $6 each (May 30 only)
- Back to Nature crackers and cookies: two for $5
- 40% off all probiotic supplements (June 1-3)
"From delicious dinner options like shrimp or rotisserie chicken to fresh organic raspberries, we're offering savings on products customers love and can enjoy with their families," Whole Foods Market President and COO A.C. Gallo said in a statement. "Exclusive deals like the sustainably caught halibut were a huge hit in Florida, and we're excited to partner with our suppliers to bring Prime members even more discounts on seasonal favorites and everyday staples."
Prime member deals will be highlighted with special signage in-store, as well as featured on the Whole Foods Market app. Customers who have their groceries delivered from Whole Foods via Prime Now will also receive exclusive savings, including free two-hour delivery on orders over $35. The offer is currently available in Austin, Dallas, Denver, Sacramento and San Francisco, with plans to expand throughout the year.
