Whole Foods Market recently opened 56,573-square-foot store at 150 E. McKinley Ave., Sunnyvale, Calif., offers a host of special features, including a Floodcraft Brewing Co., with beers on tap, cocktails-to-go and a to-go food menu, which includes burgers and fries. Frankie and Haandi, an Indian-inspired street-food-style venue, dishes up a flavorful menu of Chicken Tikka wraps; Sunny Haandi, a warm veggie and chickpea bowl; and more.
A Locavore's Dream
The new Sunnyvale store is fiercely focused on homegrown talent, with over 3,500 local products throughout the store from nearly 700 of local suppliers, many of which are new to Whole Foods Market, like tamales from Alicia’s Tamales Los Mayas and bread from The Midwife and the Baker. Its extensive array of more than 1,000 beer, wine and spirits offerings also includes selections from local producers. Meanwhile, an in-store sommelier is available to provide recommendations for any pairing or palate.
In line with other recently opened Whole Foods Markets in California, Maryland and Florida, the Sunnyvale store features an expansive wellness and beauty department brimming with body care, skincare, supplements and a variety of apparel. Local offerings include shave cream from Marin Bee, skin sticks from Earth Tu Face and pure moringa vegetable powder from Kuli Kuli Foods. And for the holidays, a host of stocking stuffers.
Raising the Bar
The bakery department at the Sunnyvale Whole Foods features an array of made-in-house breads, muffins and cookies, as well as a range of desserts and pastries for special diets. All of which pair perfectly with a caffeine boost from Whole Foods’ sleek in-house coffee bar.
