Following a successful test, Sprouts Farmers Market said it is expanding its pilot program with Phoenix-based PRESS Coffee to open four new coffee bars inside Arizona grocery stores.
The first PRESS Coffee opened inside a Phoenix Sprouts in October 2022. The four new coffee bars, rolling out through the end of February, will be located inside Scottsdale, Arizona, Sprouts stores.
“Over the past year, we’ve loved seeing the Sprouts community engage with PRESS at our pilot location,” Sprouts’ Chief Strategy Officer Dave McGlinchey said in a statement. “PRESS and Sprouts have a shared mission of providing people fresh, quality, sustainable and ethically sourced specialty products.”
Each of the new coffee bars will include a customer workspace, as well as a full beverage menu of hot and iced coffees. The areas will also include an assortment of retail coffee beans.
“PRESS is thrilled to continue our partnership with Sprouts, bringing local food and specialty coffee to Arizona communities,” PRESS co-owner Jason Kyle said in a statement. “Over the past year, we’ve seen how dedicated the Sprouts team is to providing quality products to customers, which is what our team strives for every day.”
Fast-growing Sprouts on Friday opened two new stores, one in Woodland, California, and the other in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Both openings were celebrated with weekend festivities, including a “pop-up party” with a seasonal produce tasting bar, face painting, produce carving and more family-friendly activities, Sprouts said.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sprouts Farmers Market to our community,” Woodland Mayor Vicky Fernandez said in a statement. “Sprouts’ efforts to make natural foods accessible to all perfectly fits Woodland’s rich agricultural heritage and our deep respect for the land and the people who work it.”
At the Woodland store, Sprouts said it will work with local farmers such as A.V. Thomas Produce, Blossom Hill Packing and Lucich Santos Farms, among others, to source produce.
Sprouts opened in the Steele Creek neighborhood in Charlotte. The grocer said it will sell produce at the store from local farmers including All American Produce, Cottle Farms, Jim Rash Watermelons and others.
On Nov. 10, Sprouts celebrated the grand opening of its store in Henderson, Nevada.
Sprouts, which has said it intends to open 30 new stores before the end of 2023, currently operates more than 400 locations in 23 states. The grocer focuses on fresh produce, as well as natural and organic products.
