Specialty grocer Sprouts Farmers Market has a busy grand openings schedule in the coming months, with four openings recently announced.
Up first is a new location in Delray Beach, Florida, which is scheduled to open Friday. Sprouts is growing aggressively in Florida. It plans to open eight new stores in the state this summer, for a total of 43 grocery stores there. That’s second only to Texas (at 49) for the greatest concentration of Sprouts stores in one state.
In Delray Beach, Sprouts will stock produce from local farmers such as Alderman Farms, Santa Sweets and Wish Farms, the grocer said. It will also provide food donations to Feeding South Florida.
Up next for Sprouts is another Florida opening, this one in Boca Raton on July 28. The grocer is looking to hire 75 full-and part-time workers for that store, including department managers, assistants and clerks, as well as cashiers, courtesy clerks, backup receiver, administrative coordinator and scan coordinator.
Phoenix-based Sprouts is scheduled to open two stores on August 4, one in Orlando and the other in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Sprouts has two existing stores in Colorado Springs and a total of more than 30 locations in the state.
Sprouts is hiring 92 full- and part-time employees for its Colorado Springs location and 95 employees for the new store in Orlando.
The grocer, which specializes in natural and organic foods and farm-fresh produce, has previously said it intends to open about 30 new stores this year. All of the new stores will follow Sprouts’ smaller-footprint layout.
Sprouts has a total of 10 locations on its soon-to-open list, eight of them in Florda.
Sprouts currently operates more than 380 stores in 23 states and employs about 31,000 workers.
