Weis Markets recently celebrated the grand opening of a new, 46,000-square-foot store in Dingmans Plaza on Route 739 in Dingmans Ferry, Pa., featuring a beer cave and wine cafe; a meal center with heat-and-serve, grab-and-go and ready-to-eat meals; curbside pickup and delivery; and more.

“We are pleased to expand our services in Dingmans Ferry and the Pike County area to offer our new customers a strong combination of convenience, quality and low prices that help them live better and spend less,” said Ron Bonacci, VP of advertising and marketing for Weis Markets.

Other features of the store include an expansive produce department with a wide selection of organic produce; a full-service seafood department with lobster tank; a full-service meat department with on-premise, custom-cut Certified Angus Beef; sushi prepared in-store daily; a deli offering a wide selection of sliced meats and cheeses; an organic and natural foods store-within-a-store; a section devoted to Eastern European cuisine; eight self-scan checkout lanes; a full-service, drive-thru pharmacy; and a fuel center.

The store, which will employ more than 140 new full- and part-time associates, will also offer Weis 2 Go Online ordering with curbside pickup and delivery, a service offered at more than 150 of Weis’ 196 stores in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia and West Virginia.

Dingmans Ferry customers will also benefit from Weis’ Low, Low Prices program, which recently expanded to its produce department and now offers low prices on more than 7,000 products.

To mark the opening of the new store, Weis Markets donated to the Dingman Township Volunteer Fire Department, Delaware Township Fire Department, Holy Trinity Food Pantry and Delaware Valley School District. The donations are part of a year-round giving program that includes campaigns to support local community hunger organizations, pet shelters and veterans’ organizations, among other local nonprofits.
