London-based AI food technology startup Spoon Guru is strengthening its leadership team in the U.S. by appointing Viv Craske as senior vice president of commercial development. Craske will be tasked with expanding the company's overall strategy and sales team in the U.S.
The appointment follows Spoon Guru’s rapid international growth across Australia, New Zealand and the Netherlands, with a key focus for 2020 on Craske greatly expanding Spoon Guru's U.S. footprint. Craske will support the rollout state by state and strategic partnerships with stateside retailers, the company said. Spoon Guru has partnerships with a number of well-known international retailers, including Tesco, Woolworths in Australia and Ahold Delhaize's Albert Heijn chain in the Netherlands.
“I am delighted to welcome Viv to the business,” said Markus Stripf, co-founder and CEO of Spoon Guru. “With an entrepreneurial mindset and exceptional commercial instincts, we look forward to him accelerating Spoon Guru’s growth in the U.S. to develop our sales teams and bring his in-depth knowledge to retailers.”
Craske’s experience includes selling data products into grocery retailers, having built the sales team as business development director and managing director at leading food tech startups, including mySupermarket.
Established in 2015, Spoon Guru is best known for its development of unique food search and discovery engines that cater to individuals with specific dietary food requirements or health objectives, enabling retailers to improve the shopping experience for those with special diets, food allergies and other tailored food and food product needs while increasing the choice of foods available and minimizing effort to find them.
