CHEF’STORE, the warehouse retail concept from US Foods that is open to restaurant professionals as well as the general public, will open its newest location on Saturday in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
An alternative to wholesale clubs, the 23,000-square-foot warehouse, which will be located at 140 Stratford Commons Court, does not require a membership fee for its shoppers. This is the second CHEF’STORE location in North Carolina, joining the existing Charlotte location, according to the company’s website.
Rosemont, Illinois-based US Foods has been growing its CHEF’STORE warehouse retail concept since April 2020.
“CHEF'STORE is poised for tremendous growth across multiple geographies in the U.S. as aligned with our omnichannel strategy that is focused on enhancing synergies for US Foods' broadline customers,” Irfan Badibanga president of CHEF’STORE, toldWGB this past fall.
The stores sell “restaurant-quality” products including meat, produce, dairy, deli, frozen seafood, baking ingredients, catering and restaurant products, and janitorial supplies.
With plans to continue to accelerate its growth, a new CHEF’STORE will open in February in St. George, Utah, the company said. The new 20,000-square-foot built-to-suit CHEF’STORE will be the second CHEF’STORE location in Utah and will be located at 2986 E. Panther Way.
CHEF’STORE plans to also open a 20,000-square-foot store at 2885 N. Sanders St. in Helena, Montana, which will join existing Montana locations in Kalispell and Missoula. The store is slated to open in early 2023, US Foods said.
