Rite Aid has partnered with Amazon in select zip code locations in Newark, New Jersey, and Burbank, California, allowing two-hour delivery windows of Rite Aid orders to Amazon Prime members, the e-commerce giant announced this week.
The new service applies to a wide range of Rite Aid products—including groceries, cosmetics and more—available on the Amazon app or online at www.amazon.com/shopriteaid. The service does not include prescriptions or pharmaceuticals, the company noted.
Amazon is also offering a one-time 20% discount on the first order of $40 or more for new customers, using the code RiteAid20.
“Rite Aid’s availability on Amazon provides our local Prime members in Newark, New Jersey, and Burbank, California, with even more selection and convenience as they continue to shop for health and personal care, cosmetics and grocery essentials online and trust they will be delivered to their door fast,” the company said in a statement. “We’re consistently looking for ways to offer more choice, flexibility and value for Prime members, so we look forward to expanding our two-hour delivery window offering to more Rite Aid locations in the future.”
The Newark and Burbank locations are the newest in Amazon’s growing list of brick-and-mortar grocery retail partners. Amazon launched the service at two Save Mart locations in Lathrop and Ceres, California, in October and at select Cardenas Markets locations in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Indio, Pomona, Murrieta and Pittsburg, California. Amazon also offers the service at select location for Bristol Farms, Bartell Drugs and Pet Food Express.
Rite Aid also plans to expand the service to more of its 2,244 locations nationwide, the company said in a statement. “Our customer-centric approach complements the busy lives of our consumers to conveniently meet them where they are, which is why we are excited to team up with Amazon to provide local Prime members convenient access to deliver everyday essentials right to their doorstep with two-hour delivery windows,’ the company said.
