Ahold Delhaize USA's Retail Media team is growing.
The in-house digital media agency, which is part of the Peapod Digital Labs company at the grocery operator, has promoted Bobby Watts to SVP of retail media.
In the newly created position, Watts will be responsible for overall growth, revenue and partnerships.
Watts brings over 30 years of grocery retail experience to the new role, which includes retail operations, category management, merchandising planning and retail media.
The announcement of Watts’ appointment also credits his role during the Ahold USA and Delhaize America merger in 2016, development of an omnichannel commercial planning process and, most recently, the in-house build and strategy development of the company’s AD Retail Media function.
Ahold Delhaize USA's Retail Media also announced that Bernadette “Bernie” Van Osdal has joined the team as the new VP of sales.
Prior to this new position, Van Osdal worked at New Stream Media. In her new role, Van Osdal will work closely with Watts to drive retail partnerships, the announcement said.
AD Retail Media, which aims to connect consumer packaged goods partners with the grocer’s East Coast omnichannel customer base, is part of the rapidly growing segment of retail media in the grocery space.
