The NoMad area store, set to open June 1, will feature food choices from more than 20 local farms.

"Communities will always need grocery stores and comfort food, that’ll never change," said Roger Moser, owner of the Missouri-based grocery chain.

The location mark's the company’s fifth grand opening in 2022, bringing its total number of U.S. stores to 229.

The store, located one door down from the retailer’s supermarket in the city, will offer more than 300 beers and 400 wines.

The 81,300-square-foot location, offering restaurant foods prepared by Executive Chef Juan Flores and his culinary staff, will anchor a development that features three luxury apartment towers.

The first stand-alone meat market in Minnesota for Fareway will offer fresh, high-quality meat at its full-service butcher counters, main course options, a variety of sides and more.

The retailer said the 84,000-square-foot location will have a European open-air market look and feel and is looking to fill 85 full-time positions ahead of the store's opening.

A member of the retailer-owned cooperative Wakefern Food Corp., Gourmet Garage now has four New York City locations.

In an open letter, Aldi U.S. CEO Jason Hart addressed rising food costs by telling Aldi shoppers that “no matter what happens in the world around us, Aldi will always be the low-price leader in every community we serve.”
