Wegmans to Open Its 1st Store in Delaware This Fall

The retailer said the 84,000-square-foot location will have a European open-air market look and feel and is looking to fill 85 full-time positions ahead of the store's opening.

Gourmet Garage Opens Neighborhood Market in New York's West Village

A member of the retailer-owned cooperative Wakefern Food Corp., Gourmet Garage now has four New York City locations.

In an open letter, Aldi U.S. CEO Jason Hart addressed rising food costs by telling Aldi shoppers that “no matter what happens in the world around us, Aldi will always be the low-price leader in every community we serve.”

The retailer opens two new supercenters in the state, offering a retail experience that features multiple ways to shop.

The newest location is the 12th Harps store in the Fort Smith metro area.

The Deer Park, N.Y., store will be 35,359 square feet and create 65 new jobs.

The store’s design is inspired by the historic homes, storefronts and gourmet restaurants of the surrounding neighborhoods.

CEO Jonathan Weis said the budget includes four new stores, one expansion, five major remodels and eight fuel centers.

The location in Warwick, R.I., will be about half the size of a typical BJ’s and serve as an “innovation lab,” where new product assortments, displays, product demonstrations and convenience initiatives will be tested.

The Abingdon, Va.-based retailer said that it will launch its line of Curt’s Ace Hardware stores later this summer.
