Independent Grocery Organizations NGA, ROFDA Team Up

Retailer Owned Food Distributors & Associates will merge under the National Grocers Association, bringing together two organizations with missions to promote the independent grocery industry.

CookIt, which will be introduced at the ShopRite and The Fresh Grocer banners, combines menu planning and food purchase with one click.

Pat Raybould will continue as CEO and chairman at the 20-store Nebraska-based grocer.

The deal’s completion fuses two Carolinas-born, family-owned operations with deep regional roots.
