The International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA), formed earlier this year via the combination of the United Fresh Produce Association and the Produce Marketing Association, is preparing for its first big event: The Global Produce & Floral Show, to be held Oct. 27-29 in Orlando.
Registration is now open for show which IFPA described on its website as “single best place to meet the entire fresh produce and floral supply chain. You'll make lasting new connections and reconnect with your favorite peers who help your business grow.”
The schedule for the Global Produce & Floral Show will include keynote speakers, breakout sessions, an expo show floor and networking events.
A highlight on Thursday, Oct. 27, will be a State of the Industry address from IFPA CEO Cathy Burns, who will explore the latest in emerging innovations and consumer trends, and what these mean for IFPA members and the global produce and floral community.
Then on Friday, Oct. 28, there will be a general session on “Retail Produce Manager Awards and Changing the World Through the Power of Food,” and on Saturday, Oct. 29, a session on “Women in Film: Navigating a Male-Dominated Industry,” during which actress Laura Linney, known recently for her work in “Ozark,” will discuss gender inequality within the film industry and offer a reminder “that anyone is at risk of discrimination,” IFPA said.
The show floor will highlight businesses, business solutions and new products in produce and floral, as well as complementary items. New to the floor is a FutureTec Pavilion, where attendees can discover startup companies and learn more about their industry-focused solutions. Also new is a Retailers Pavilion, “a must-see to find new technology and equipment to give a boost to your produce aisles,” IFPA said.
