Diane Adam

Diane Adam is an editor with WGB who covers publicly traded grocery retailers, wholesale clubs, and independent grocers. Prior to joining Winsight, Diane spent four years as a senior copywriter in the restaurant industry and over 20 years as the managing editor of The Greek Star newspaper. She received her bachelor's degree in history with a concentration in journalism from Colorado State University. When not writing about the grocery industry, she is searching for her next favorite Greek restaurant.

Plans for a second Lexington location are announced as the employee-owned grocer readies for battle with Kroger and Walmart.

Sawall Health Foods in Kalamazoo, Michigan, was founded in 1936 and is now a fifth generation grocer. Illinois Grocery Initiative aims to aid independents.

The 48,000-square-foot store is located at Market City Square in Sylacauga.

The discount grocer’s newest locations are in Orland Park, Illinois, and Sturgis, Michigan.

Industry leaders, including CEOs of Albertsons and Kellogg, told a packed house in Kalamazoo, Michigan, about grocery’s challenges and opportunities.

The 46,791-square-foot supermarket employs 130 people and is located at Ellis Crossing.  

Shoppers can now use SNAP benefits on Flashfood at all Meijer supercenters and Meijer Grocery stores.

In partnership with Simbe Robotics, Tally inventory management robots will roll out to all 237 stores, delivering real-time data and freeing up workers for other tasks, the retailer said.

The employee-owned grocer has entered into a purchase agreement to buy the independent grocery retailer that has served the Prague, Oklahoma, community for 45 years.
