Aldi is continuing its expansion in the Northeast with the opening of a new store in New York on Thursday.
The discount grocer’s newest New York location is at 662 Hoosick Road in Troy, situated north of the state capital of Albany.
“Our stores are designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier, and we’ve been voted the price leader for six years running,” said Aaron Sumida, Tully division regional vice president at Aldi, in a statement. “We’re excited to open our first Aldi store in Troy and introduce local customers to a new, more affordable way of shopping.”
Aldi’s expansion last year saw new stores across the Southeast, but 2023 is shaping up toincludeother parts of the U.S. as well, including the Northeast, with another store opening in New York next Thursday in Williamsville, according to the grocery retailer’s website, whichlists125 locations in New York.
Aldi recently took thetop spot as the most-trusted discount and small-format grocer, according to the 2023 Most Trusted Grocery Retailers in America list conducted by market research firm BrandSpark International, in partnership with Winsight Grocery Business and Newsweek.
